 Oct 11, 2008   Hunting Season Safety Tips 
  Here are some safety tips for those who venture into the woods during hunting season.

**Stay on marked trails

**Wear bright orange clothing

**Keep pets on a leash and have them wear bright orange cloth or a vest (most pet supply companies sell these items)

Archery: October 15 to November 24

Shot Gun: November 26 to December 8

Muzzle: December 10 to December 31

 Feb 5, 2008   State Police Issue Ice Safety Tips  (Read More)
  The following winter ice safety tips were provided by the Massachusetts State Police:

Measure ice thickness in several locations. Local conditions such as currents and water depths can affect ice thickness. White ice has air or snow within it and should be considered suspect for recreational use. The recommended minimum ice thickness for new, clear, hard ice is as follows: 3 (7 cm) or less: STAY OFF 4 (10 cm): ice fishing, walking, cross-country skiing, skating 5 (12 cm): one snowmobile or ATV 8-12 (20-30 cm): one car or small pickup 12-15 (30-38 cm): one medium truck (pickup or van)





 Dec 3, 2007   Winter Parking Ban in Effect 
  Vehicles left unattended in public ways or municipal turn around areas interfering with snow removal and sanding operations will be towed at the owners expense. This ban is in effect until April 18, 2008.
